"The Document" - somewhere there are MORE for the other siblings of Edward and Sarah Coyan
In 1997, Joy Masters Coyan told me that there was a mention in the Carroll county Ohio newspaper in 1891 that provided "proof" that at least two of the four suspected Coyan"brothers" (and sons of Edward and Sarah Coyan) as being just that - BROTHERS! She had gotten this info from Rick Borland of Carrollton, OH., whose wife is a descendant of John and Margaret McKinnon Coyan. The suspected brothers are: John (1784-1854), Hugh (1789-aft. 1860), Edward (1795-aft 1860), and William Coyan (1805-1891). On one of my many trips to the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus, OH., I did in fact find this article in the August 21, 1891 edition of the "Carroll Chronicle" newspaper. Rosanna Coyan Hawk was a daughter of John and Margaret McKinnon Coyan. This reference to her uncle, William Theaker Coyan of McKeesport, PA., upon his death on August 4, 1891 provides some proof that Joy, myself and several others are convinced of, that being that not only are John and William - now confirmed - brothers, but also that Hugh, my gggg-grandfather, and Edward Coyan are also their siblings. If you only knew how much time Joy Coyan and I have spent trying to find "proof" for Hugh's blood relationship to the others......And the search continues! Here is "The Document" - thank you Rick Borland!
